One Republic- Counting Stars

Hello everyone! I know, I know it's been a little while since I've put up an update on anything but with work shooting the dial past 11 it's been beyond hard to find time to update "Cover A Day," "Rock D3COD3D," or "Walking Through Hell." I thank you all for sticking through this with me and for that I offer you my newest of a string of covers coming in the next month.

One Republic has always been a very formidable pop titan over the past few years. From their debut single "Apologize" the Colorado band has since produced a multitude of number one hits as well as sort of reshape the modern pop landscape. There newest forte is the album titled "Natives" which in and of itself is a good album but it's the beginning track "Counting Stars" that pulls no punches and delivers an incredibly catchy tune that the band has not seen for a while. But enough of my gushing, check out the cover for yourself and here's to a cover-filled summer!

Bright Lights (Mother's Day Special)

Hello everyone and it's time for another installment of Cover A Day. With this Sunday being Mothers' Day I decided to cover a song for my own mother. It's a great little tune from Matchbox Twenty that I spent more than a few years attempting to sing before my mother found helped me find an amazing vocal coach to find the best in my voice. I honestly could not thank her enough for all of her support over the years and never giving up on me even when the odds were stacked against me. I'm sure a majority of you will be celebrating this holiday with your own mothers but alas I have been unable to for a few years now so for that I send out this song (one of her personal favorites) across the interweb as a gift.

Not much to talk about on the song itself besides it being a great dynamic work by the 90s band Matchbox Twenty off of their album More Than You Think You Are, released in 2003 and if you have not heard one their album, better play catch up they're amazing artists. I hope you all not only enjoy the cover but your mothers day as well. Until next time, take care internet!

Collide

So with a new set of strings comes a test to see how they sound! Welcome to another edition of Cover A Day! Today, we're all the way back to the year 2004 for this rock infused pop song. Howie Day was a relatively unknown artist having done a college and released only a demo entitled "Australia" at this point. Of course that would all change with the release of his first big hit "Collide" off of his debut full-length album Stop All The World Now. This song is definitely a great one and I would not have actually recorded had it not been for a mentioning of the song and myself dabbling in the key so to that person I dedicate this week's song to you, hope it brings a smile to your face as it has mine. The Link is course the song title below so please click it and give it a listen!

Until next time, remember to hit the like button here for more news, please leave all comments at the bottom, and share to the people you know.

Iris

Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of Cover A Day. Now I think everyone and there mom has not only heard of 90's smash hit band the "Goo Goo Dolls" but they also have their favorite song from the band that they can play till their ears bleed and still be happy. Originally released in 1998, back when movie companies paid a lot of money for a smash hit song to go with their movie, the band was approached to write a song for the movie City Of Angels. In all it was a decent movie but the song they wrote entitled "Iris" was the real gem of that undertaking. It was a number one hit and spent 18 weeks at number one which is a phenomenal accomplishment for any band.
Now a quick side note, I originally started this project as a way to help myself keep together with music and as a tool for happiness so with that being said this week's song is dedicating to someone I know is going through a rough time and this is one of her all-time favorite songs. I hope that I did it justice for you and for anyone feeling a little down send me a song request, it'll be completely anonymous and I will have as quick of a turn around as possible, because doing this brings me joy and any chance to share that I will take.

No One's Gonna Love You

Released as a single in 2008 I originally heard not only this song but the original band "Band of Horses" on the television show Chuck and while his vocals were definitely different than what I was used to at the time, I found their sound scape to be awe inspiring. If you have not heard this band seriously go pick up their debut Everything All The Time or Cease To Begin which are both spectacular albums. Enjoy my rendition at the link below everyone and have a wonderful week till we meet again!

Hear You Me(Dedication)

Welcome back to Cover A Day! We finally were able to get the studio back up and this song has been stuck inside my head since December. This song was originally released by Jimmy Eat World on their Bleed American album though my first listen through was their "performance" on One Tree Hill. A very emotional song that isn't is written to be heard by listeners that want a pulse pounding ride. This song is very played down mostly consisting of an acoustic guitar and vocals with light percussion. Of course I respect this song so I did a purely acoustic rendition enjoy!!

Chasing Cars THROWBACK!!!!!!

So as much as I'd like to try and hide this in the depths of the internet I feel that with Throwback Thursday I'll give you guys a true treat, my first ever performance. Back in 2007, there was a very popular song by the name of "Chasing Cars" by "Snow Patrol." A friend of mine at the time suggested we do it for our school talent show and this is what turned out. Just thought I'd share this small treasure of my personal past while the studio is still getting constructed I hope you all enjoy!
And, to completely screw with the star counter click the five stars for me:D! (insert random trolls than click the one star;) )

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and we'll see you next week!

Don't You(Forget About Me) and a Quick Update About Future Updates

Hey everybody, sorry for the month of silence of here at CAD I've actually been getting ready to move recently and had to shut down my studio for the time being. I will be working as fast as possible to get it back up to bring you future updates. With that being said I do actually have a throwback cover I did of Simple Mind's "Don't You (Forget About Me)." This song is best known as the opening and closing to the 1985 classic "The Breakfast Club," in which, 5 students (a geek, a jock, a popular girl, a rebel, and a social misfit) all spend a detention session getting to know each other eventually becoming like a family. If you have not seen it, I highly suggest you stop browsing the internet (after listening to this cover of course) and watch it in it's entirety. I actually made this cover for a family of my own, my high school class hence the audio clips intertwined. Go ahead, sit back, and enjoy this rendition of a classic. *Kudos to Yellowcard for the inspiration for this cover's style.

Forever My Father

So, a few months back I had the great privilege to have an artist by the name of Joe Dean stop into my studio to do a bit of recording. When we weren't working on his song we messed around with a few covers and this happens to be one them. Forever My Father was originally recorded on Go Radio's debut EP Welcome To Life though it was later redone TWICE on their debut album Lucky Street. If you have not heard this band I would strongly recommend you give them a listen after you take a peak at our cover. Always remember to hit the like button and comment below! *Singing starts at about 30 secs if ambiance isn't your thing*

Smile Like You Mean It

Originally written by The Killers for their first album Hot Fuss back in 2004 it was released as single in 2005 after "All These Things That I've Done." While not one of their strongest songs in a staggering amount of people's opinion, I know that a least through my close connection of friends and family that this song is probably one of the best songs not only on Hot Fuss but also out of their whole discography. After hearing their new music a few months back I found myself rolling my eyes and groaning because while I'm glad they've return it seems they returned with a whimper not a roar. But, enough about all that I'll save the "Battle Born" album for my next Rock D3COD3D. Enjoy all, and as always put any comments below along with any recommendations. Don't forget to hit the like button. *Due to a problem I am unable to put an actual player on the blog post please press the link below and there should be an actual player for the next installment.

Intro

Hello fellow music lovers, obsessive bloggers, and people just bored playing around on the internet. Allow me to introduce myself my name is Keith. I have started creating blogs a while back but am really starting to tap into what I want to write and put up on the internet. Sadly, writing isn't the only thing I do as I'm very big into playing music but, without a video camera it's a bit hard to make cover videos. So instead I decided to make this blog which is designed specifically for putting up covers of great songs, whether they be ones done by me, ones made from friends, or just recommendations you'll be able to find some of the best here at Cover A Day. If you have any recommends go ahead and throw them down in the comments below or e-mail me @ ksny8445@gmail.com as always remember to hit the like button.
